CLEAR is an approved Adult Learning Provider for a range of short courses which are primarily aimed at increasing the skills needed for work and volunteering opportunities for our client group. The majority of our courses are funded by Southampton City Council but we also have courses funded by the BIG Lottery.

As most of our client group have English as a second language, many of the courses have a high ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) element embedded in the course.

Fees

We have a fee remission policy in operation so for certain eligible groups of asylum seekers and registered job seekers and those on selected means tested benefits, courses are free of cost. All our courses are subsidised for our client group with the support of funders and the price column shows these subsidised costs. However, we welcome inquiries and application to courses from all and operate a sliding scale of fees accordingly.

How to Apply

To apply for a place on a course, you can do the following:

Phone: 02380 221111 and ask to speak to Rowan

Email: learning@clearproject.org.uk

Drop in to our Advice Service on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10-1 or 2-3.30) or Fridays (10-1) and complete a course enquiry form and you will be contacted by phone when recruitment for the course is underway. If you change phone number or address after you have applied for a place, don’t forget to let us know otherwise we cannot contact you to offer you a place!

Attendance

Here at CLEAR, we think attendance shows your commitment to learning so we want learners to attend every session, every week. If you are enrolled on a course and you cannot attend due to illness or other reason, we want you to text us on the numbers we will provide to you, at the start of the course. Very often we will phone learners if they have not attended a session to check that everything is okay. We want good attendance on the course, not just your fees at the start!
