THE BIKE WORKSHOP HAS NOW CLOSED.

CLEAR started its bike workshop in January 2002. The bike project enabled refugees to help repair donated bicycles, and then to take a fully serviced bike home with them. This offered refugees affordable mobility to get to college or work, a meaningful activity to learn a new skill, and an opportunity to mix socially.

We have repaired and given away over 370 bikes since the bike project started, and carried out an increasing number of repairs. However the demand for bikes has changed, with more refugees working or at college and unable to attend the workshop.

Reduced demand from refugees and an end in funding led to the project being closed in June 2006.
