A large proportion of our daily work involves offering information, advice and practical support for refugees and asylum seekers who call at our office. They have a wide range of problems including housing, immigration, debt & destitution, benefits, unemployment, accessing education, and health.
Some people just need help to complete forms, or ask us to chase up problems with their solicitors, benefit applications, employers or landlords. Some have complicated and ongoing situations, and in these we undertake casework to ensure the quality and consistency of the advice that we give. We have been awarded the Community legal Services Quality Mark for our Advice & Casework service.
We work with a range of other agencies, statutory, voluntary and community to deliver our services and provide the best outcomes for our clients.

Befriending
Some people need long term support, and our volunteer befrienders are able to help. They may be involved regularly for several months, accompanying and transporting people to medical appointments, shopping, and taking children to nursery places. We have also taken unaccompanied minors to Home Office interviews, and to leisure and social activities, as well as helping them with basic living skills such as cooking and shopping.
